Watercress Project
We are currently researching the effects of eating Watercress and Sickle Cell disease. The superfood has essential vitamins and minerals and can help with lactation and reduce the sickling of red blood cells. The plant contains dietary nitric oxide, a gas that is transported from the lungs by hemoglobin in red blood cells. The nitric oxide in watercress will relax the blocked blood vessels so they can widen and allow the sickled cells to pass. We will continue to conduct more studies on the benefits of this plant.
Boost Oxygen Project
Our latest project is the performance of Boost Oxygen in preventing a sickle cell crisis. Whether the mom is diagnosed with Sickle Cell disease or the child with Sickle Cell Trait, we are experimenting how this can of portable 95% supplemental oxygen can assist with the speedy recovery or preventing a crisis.

Crescent Cells provides individual care and service to mothers dealing with this ongoing medical issue. We are here to advocate for mothers and the support starts the minute of contact and continues well after walking out the door.

Our Latest Success Story
Congratulations to A. Beckford on the birth of her son, Aaron! Mrs. Beckford’s pregnancy journey was not easy. Although she experienced pain episodes and hospitalizations, she persevered with honor and strength.
We were there to help Mrs. Beckford with questions about what to expect with a C-section, how to gain weight during her pregnancy and lactation issues. We even had the opportunity to meet baby Aaron! Crescent Cells will be there to assist Mrs. Beckford throughout her motherhood.
